During their May 26, 2016 meeting, the Â鶹Íø Governing Board unanimously approved a resolution ordering and calling a special bond election to be held in and for Washington Elementary School District #6 of Maricopa County, Arizona, on November 8, 2016. If approved by voters, bond proceeds will fund safety projects, including school office renovations, security and surveillance systems, school intercom systems, and playgrounds and shade structures; technology, including cabling, servers and switches, computers and interactive technology in classrooms, and video distribution systems; building system upgrades and replacements, including HVAC, roofing, flooring, sound and presentation systems, and stage curtains and lighting; site upgrades, including concrete and asphalt upgrades; new construction, including replacing portable buildings at schools and rebuilding one school; and pupil transportation, entailing the replacement of aging buses.
