Attendance
If a child must be absent from school, please call the Attendance line prior to 8:00 a.m. at 602-896-6411. To accommodate working parents, we encourage you to call any time and leave a message. When you know in advance that your child will be missing school, notify the Attendance line (602-896-6411) before the absence date.

Before/After School Care
Quality before and after is provided on site for school age children of Sunburst through our KidSpace program. Space is limited, so early registration is important. Call 602-896-6415 for details and rates.

Breakfast and Lunch
Breakfast and lunch are served to students free of charge.
Breakfast is served at 7:30 a.m. in the classroom.
Lunch is served based on grade levels from 10:15 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. Lunches are served in the cafeteria daily. Students are welcome to bring a lunch from home. If you have any dietary restrictions, please contact Nutrition Services.

Dress Code
Uniforms are not required but students must adhere to the dress code.
Student IDs are an essential part of the dress code. IDs must be worn by all students at all times for safety purposes. IDs are required to ride the bus.

Extracurricular Activities
Sunburst Elementary has a number of extracurricular activities available to our students including Garden Club, Media Club and boys and girls basketball for students in grades 3-6.

ParentVUE
All parents and guardians have a ParentVUE account that can be used to access important information about their student such as grades and attendance. Parents/guardians will need an activation key to log on for the first time. You can obtain an activation key by visiting the school office and bringing a photo ID. If you have a registered email, you can also request account activation online. Please visit /ParentVUE to get started.

Preschool Programs
Head Start preschool is offered at Sunburst Elementary School. Students must qualify for this program.

School Supplies
The Â鶹Íø provides all required school supplies, though teachers may send home a "wish list" of additional, optional items.

Student Drop-Off and Pickup
Student drop-off begins at 7:10 a.m., which is our scheduled supervision time. Students will not have access to playgrounds before then.
Students in all grades dismiss at 2:30 p.m. At dismissal, students not in day care are to leave school or board buses immediately, unless they are involved in a sanctioned school activity.

Transportation
Students may ride the bus to school based on thier home address. Bus routes are available online by clicking here. We encourage eligiable students to ride the bus as this alieves traffic during drop-off and pickup times.
Students may ride bicycles to school. All bicycles should be walked on campus and secured in the bike rack. The school does not assume any responsibility for bicyles.
Students may also walk to school. Please review with your child the safest, as well as quickest, route to and from school. Students must be advised to avoid strangers and to take other precautions in case of an emergency.

Visiting Campus
All visitors are required to sign in at the front office and recieve a visitors badge.
